LM 352 – Christmas Carol (Don Wood)

OPENER

Side Face Grand Square

I was playing Santa Clause downtown on Christmas Eve

When a little girl of 3 or 4 climbed up on my knee

I saw she had a question behind thos eyes of blue

So I asked her what her name was.

Allemande Left and Weave you do

She said my name is Christmas Carol, I was born on Christmas day,

I don’t know who my daddy is and mamma’s gon away,

All I want for Christmas is someone to take me home,

doesn’t anybody want a Christmas Carol of their own.

Figure

Head pair promenade go half way round the hall

down the middle and square thru 4 hands  you all,

go all the way around and you  do the Right and Left Thru,

Veer left and circulate why don't we go by twos.

Half Tag and Scoot Back that corner lady swing,

swing amd whirl that pretty  girl and  promenade around the ring

All she wants for Christmas is someone to take her home,

doesn’t anybody want a Christmas Carol of their own.

Middle Break

All 4 Ladies promenade once inside the ring,

get back home and swing your man around the ring  I sing,

Join up hands and Circle to the left go round the ring,

Allemande Left your corner then you weave the ring.

She said my name is Christmas Carol, I was born on Christmas day,

I don’t know who my daddy is and mamma’s gon away,

All I want for Christmas is someone to take me home,

doesn’t anybody want a Christmas Carol of their own.

Closer

Sides Face Grand Square

Early that next morning I got up and dialed the phone

I made a few arrangements with the County Childrens Home,

They said it would be alright to pick her up today

and now my Christmas Carol won’t ever have to say

Allemande and Weave

My name is Christmas Carol, I was born on Christmas day,

I don’t know who my daddy is and mamma’s gone away,

All I want for Christmas is someone to take me home,
